Holy hell...let me tell you guys that you have not seen shit for a band until you have seen MONTY. They came all teh way from Rhode Island to Helena last night on their tour and they fuckin rocked. Nick and I headed down there with Talan around 4ish. I was all groggy and shit from the painkillers I was put on after my surgery and shit, so I was probably an idiot the whole way there. Upon arrival we hit Mickey-D's and then proceeded to try to find the Carrol College Cube. Remeber how I told you guys to call me if you needed directions because I had been there a million times? F THAT! I was so f-ing lost! We ended up in some like German sector of town called Lymehaus or some shit like that and we like headed out to BFN!! Damn, I was so pissed. So Nick calls Dan and he tries to give us directions. We could see the Cathedral, so we knew we were pretty close, and we saw this huge building, so Nick was all "Oh dan we see it, we'll be there in a minute." But then we get to the building and it's the frickin courthouse! So we call Dan back and he tries again and then Nick turns the WRONG way downa fucking one way....honestly, the fact that I made it to the Cube alive last night is such a shocker... But we got there none the less and we were like 45 minutes late but the show hadn't started anyway, so it was fine. We parked and got out of the car and what do we see but a motherf-ing deer! A live deer just chillin outside. I thought Nick would be able to resist his caveman urges, but I was wrong and he chased the damn thing, wailing his arms around like a damn monkey and screaming at the top of his lungs...poor thing. So we payed and got our HUGE M's written on our hands (seriously, it like coverd my hand). Audible was first, and then Driven Under. As usual, DU was awesome. It was nice to see them again, since I haven't been to a show of theirs since June and haven't really seen them since Warped Tour. They rocked and the new Creating A Wave is killer...check it out!! They played their new stuff...Melony is quite a good tune!! After they played, he singer from These Green Eyes did an acoustic set. Apparently, a few days ago, while in Nebraska, the van carrying the other members of TGE blew up, forcing the remaining members to go home to Connecticut, else be forced to finish the tour in a U-Haul. So the singer is just traveling with Monty playing three acoustic but AMAZING songs. Then, it was time. Monty took the stage and played probably the best show I have seen in a long ass time. I was happy. I have loved tehm for a while now, but that was literally un-fucking-believable. They even did TWO ecores they were so loved by the crowd. (One of which included Livin on a Prayer...weird) And YES, when they played O Brother, I got all weepy and emotional cause I love that song so damn much, and YES they did have the back track of the chamber choir at the end. As I have been saying since last night...FUCKING WOW. I talked to Justin the drummer after words (the same random guy who kissed my face at Warped Tour when I bought their cd...) and he gave me a signed drumstick to add to my drumstick collection, which includes Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, and haha DRIVEN UNDER!!!! Only me, right? I know I know. But anyways...the show got over around 10 and we left the Cube. We went to get some gas and stocked up on junk food and mountain dew and headed home. At which point Nick lit up a cigarette and almost lit my car on fire at the same time. He threw it out the window and it almost went in the back window, where it would have hit my tree (don't ask why there is a tree in my car, you don't want to know...i mean it...) We put in the backstreet boys (I am not ashamed) and knew all the words....duh...then we decided we had put Talan through enough so we changed the tunes to more of his style... Got home and I went straight to Aaron's house where I went to sleep after having a nice friendly chat with Wes. No, Wes and Mollie aren't dating anymore and no, it's none of your damn business. Today I will be leaving for Conrad around 3ish I believe and I will be there for teh weekend, so good luck getting a hold of me. I'll be at Brett's house, so if you know the number good for you! If not, that sucks dude. Alrighty, I'm off...toodles!
sOnG oF tHe DaY: "O Brother" by MONTY (fuck yeah!!!)
O brother where are you? (Face forward and stop thinking.) Do you admit regret in times of doubt? (We will think for you.) A life of gun in hand, with a dedication to your land, Inside out you've shown it's not what life's all about. No, we can not believe in what you said, When your whole life's been a sacrifice mislead (mislead.) But we still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through. I'm confused and punctured, My conscience is my only means of direction. Did I sign up for suicide, of a saddened bride? Three more years, no white picket fencing, and suffering a mental conviction. Please, don't you think that now we will look down, On a man who's realized what's true to him now? (to him now) But we still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through. (to see your life) It's not giving up, it's seeing what else there's to see. When you're soon set free, there is so much more than a camouflaged hell. SO COCK THE GUN AND FIRE INTO THE EYES OF A GREAT DESIRE. A fleeting destiny that is turned into what is considered to be normal. And I'm here for you. No, we can not believe in what you said, When your whole life's been a sacrifice mislead (mislead.) But we still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through. But we still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through. We still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through. We still hold the pride. When the gun smoke clears, we'll still salute you. When you return by the tides, We'll be here to see your life through.
